The last few days I've been working on making a new "January 2026" mix CD. The last one I made was in August, which is getting outdated at this point. There's a lot of new songs I frequent that I'd like to burn!
My collection of self-burned CD's has grown a lot since I last talked about it. I've been making my own CDs for albums that never had a physical release, then editing together and printing a on them. So far I've done the Trackmania 2020 soundtrack, Ghostrunner (which I later learned, did actually have a CD release :P), Rocket League X Monstercat VOL. 1, and the Rocket League original soundtrack. I got a real copy of Linkin Park's "From Zero" album on cd too recently! I'm not a big fan of digipack's, but they make up for it in the cool design work:
I've come up with a very good set of songs and put them in a very intentional order. The only problem is my CD's can only hold 80 minutes, and my playlist is 82 minutes long :\. Right now I'm listening to the playlist in full to try and figure out which song is the weak link. Here's my playlist so far:
After I figure out which song to remove, I need to figure out the cover to print on it. The "most ideal" cover that immediately came to my mind would be a picture me sitting on the hood of a cop car in a meditation pose, at night, with a dramatic flash that casts a big harsh shadow. Unfortunately I don't think any cops will let me come sit on the hood of their car late at night,, so I think I need to think of something else. Or I need to come up with some sort of compromise that follows the same spirit. I'm considering taking reference photos of myself sitting on a different kind of car, then trying to art it together myself (somehow? I'm not experienced with any kind of art).
Anyway that's all I have to say for tonight. See you all!
